Waukesha Weddings

Waukesha is just a short hike west of Milwaukee, the home of Les Paul and a charming city to have your wedding and to take photos. It is considered a core part of the Milwaukee metro area and is one of my favorite places to take portraits and they have plenty of wonderful venues to choose from.

Here are the venues and locations that I already have experience shooting a wedding and engagement photos at: the Ingleside Hotel, Tuscan Hall, Elmbrook Church, Milwaukee Mariott West, St. Mary Catholic Church, the Waukesha Riverwalk and Fox River Park Boardwalk.

The Ingleside Hotel is one of my most frequented wedding venues. I’ve photographed an entire wedding at the Ingleside: from getting ready to the last dance. And, I’ve also photographed only receptions at the Ingleside where the couple gets married at a different venue. And, since it’s a hotel, I’ve also photographed groups getting ready there and then having their ceremony and reception at a different location. As for specifics, the Ingleside has a wonderful indoor ballroom area. It has a wonderful foyer with a bar where people can gather and chat and then different sized ballrooms where you can hold a small guest count or a guest count of a few hundred. It also has an outside gazebo for outdoor ceremonies and a small park area and walking path for scenic photographic backdrops.

The Tuscan Hall Banquet Center is a charming and quaint venue located absolutely in the heart of Waukesha. It has a cozy wine cellar on the lowest floor of their building and then a large hall above it with a large dance floor. Their is also a great outdoor patio area where guests can go on warm summer evenings.

Elmbrook Church is a wonderful location for a wedding ceremony. It is quite a large church, but it has a secondary sanctuary where you can hold a wedding and not get swallowed up by the enormous main sanctuary.

Milwaukee Mariott West is a hotel and wedding venue. For portraits it has a wonderful outdoor area that is absolutely surprising in its scope. My favorite feature is the pond with trees surrounding the area. You can take pictures there and feel lost in nature with nothing in the background.

St. Mary Catholic Church is a wonderful place for your ceremony if you’re planning a Catholic ceremony. The building has an amazing upstairs balcony with an incredibly large stained glass window. I took one of my favorite detail shots here by using the stained glass to cast reflections down on the details.

The Waukesha Riverwalk is a wonderful place to take your wedding day portraits when you are willing to travel to a separate location between your ceremony and reception. This is connected to Frame Park and either spots would be a wonderful backdrop for portraits with pretty park features of water, grass and a path lined with lampposts.

The Fox River Park Boardwalk is a fun location, especially for engagement portraits. It’s a boardwalk that feels far outside of the city even though it isn’t. It gives you spanning views and a large horizon that stretches across the entire sky. The boardwalk itself seems almost surreal as there is almost grassy fields/swamps on either side. It’s a magical location.

No Travel Fee

The city of Burlington and its surrounding area is considered part of my home base area. There is no extra charge for traveling to Burlington, whether for your wedding day or for your engagement portraits.

In person walkthrough

If you hire me for your wedding, I will gladly walkthrough your Burlington wedding venue with no extra charge. This separates me from a lot of wedding photographers who don’t offer this service. All walkthroughs will take place Monday-Thursday before 5 pm at a time and date agreed upon by all of us. We can also meet in the area for any planning or informational meeting.

Half-day engagement sessions

If you purchase a wedding package that includes an engagement session, you’ll be hiring me for up to four hours, which is what is considered a half-day. The four hours is reserved for an engagement session that includes up to three locations, allowing us to travel. For Burlington engagements that could include traveling south into Wisconsin state parks or north into Milwaukee.

Single location engagement sessions will be 90 minutes to two hours.
