What’s it going to be like to have Matt shoot your wedding day?

The beauty of the photos always lies within the experience. I want you to have a great time, to be at ease, to be yourself and to have fun! When the moment calls for it I can come up with some fun/elegant poses, but mostly I’ll let you do your thing and just tweak what you already do so it looks best for the camera. I especially do this when it’s just me and the bride and groom or when I’m motivating the wedding party to have a good time. For the formal family portraits I take complete control, so you don’t have to! We need to get those pictures done, so you can get back to having a good time. The rest of the day I take a photojournalistic approach, sometimes tweaking things, sometimes moving things out of the way or sometimes putting you in the best light.

Will you travel?

Of course! And, you won’t even have to twist my arm to do such a thing. I’m based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A quick day’s trip in the car and the travel is already factored into the base price. For clients further away, please inquire for a detailed quote.

What should I wear to my photo shoot?

Solid colors usually work best against all sorts of backgrounds. Ladies, accessorize! Generally, avoid clothes with graphics on them and don’t feel the need to match each other exactly, just blend together in complementary colors.

Can I bring props to my shoot?

Absolutely! I want the final photos to be as memorable as possible, so adding elements that have special significance to you is great. For seniors, bring your favorite hobby like a musical instrument, sport equipment or a stack of books. For engaged couples, maybe bring memories of your relationship, bikes you ride together, favorite books or matching cowboy boots. If you need help, brainstorming, I’m always here to offer suggestions and can offer other prop options.

Can we print our own photos?

Yes, you have full rights to print all of your photos. If you’d like to use me for a couple special prints, I offer prints in several different packages and can do a la carte special orders as well.

How long until I have all of my photos?

For all 2-3 hour-photo sessions, I have all the edited images to you in 4-5 weeks. For weddings, I have the photos in your hands within 7 weeks. I also post photos to my website as I edit.

Who is the photographer?

That’d be me, Matt. I shoot every assignment myself, so you know you’ll get all of my experience and expertise.

Does Matt really know what he’s doing with a camera?

Yes I do! I graduated with a bachelor’s in photojournalism and worked as a newspaper photographer for five years before transitioning to portrait photography. I’m always studying the latest trends, pushing my own style and ability and working hard to make sure that you have beautiful gorgeous photos that you want to show all of your family and friends.

Speaking of family and friends, can and how do I show all of them the photos?

I post the photos to an online gallery with a password, so feel free to share the link and password with everyone you’d like. I also post my favorites to social media, so please find me and follow me on Facebook and Instagram. Once you have the photos, post as many as you’d like.

How do I book a photo session/wedding?

You can contact me for a obligation free photography information session and once you’re ready you can secure a shoot date with a $50 non-refundable deposit for non-weddings and a $450 non-refundable deposit for your wedding date.
