This is one of the last photos of the day that I took with Joseph. And, it was one of the most interesting ones. What was supposed to be a simple night time shot with the city in the background turned out wilder than I expected when a flock of birds came rushing into frame, straight out of the movie "Birds." By the time it reached us they had spread out quite a bit, but I was at least still able to get quite a few in the background.

Absolutely loved working with Jack for this dapper downtown senior session. Jack wasn't too sure about posing for portraits heading into the meeting, but his sense of style was unmatched. The beautiful thing about wearing a suit to your senior session is that it really takes pressure off of the posing. The suit can do 90% of the work and it gives a lot of punch to every single pose and backdrop. For Jack it turned a simple senior session into a James Bond commercial.

I'm really looking forward to celebrating with these two next month at their wedding. It was a chilly day in this spring when we had this fun little beach session with their furry friend, but with their blanket and chasing their dog around kept everyone nice and warm. Also, I was super excited for this first image. I like to play around with using a prism on a lot of my photoshoots, and this one absolutely one of my favorite images that I've ever took with a prism!

There's so many photo sessions that I step out into Lake Michigan and I shiver to my bones. But, that's always in the fall and definitely not this summer. This time I was very happy to get into the lake and shoot low to the water and get some photos of Taylor looking like she's walking on water during her senior portraits!
And it was so cool working with Taylor and her mom. It was wonderful to see that a senior can still laugh with her mom who was working really hard to be goofy in the background just to make Taylor laugh.
