Delafield Weddings
Delafield is a nearby and charming village in southeastern Wisconsin to have your wedding and to take your wedding portraits. It is one of my most common cities close to my base in Milwaukee to photograph either wedding days or engagement sessions or portrait session. They have many, many wonderful venues to choose from.
Here are the venues that I already have experience shooting a wedding at: the Delafield Fish Hatchery, the Delafield Brewhaus, the Delafield Hotel, downtown Delafield and Kettle Moraine State Forest – Lapham Peak Unit. Below you’ll see examples from each of those venues.
The Delafield Fish Hatchery is an absolute favorite spot of mine to take portraits. The building itself is a stone structure and surrounding it is Bark River and the woods of the Fish Hatchery Sports Complex and Liberty Park. It is a great spot for pretty locations of river, trees and flowers.
The Delafield Hotel is an elegant wedding venue and it can host large or small guest counts. Couples can get ready in one of the hotel rooms and they are fantastic spots for getting ready photos. Some of my favorite getting ready photos were taken here. Also, one of the most fun and unique treasures of the hotel is that you can walk up into the tower to get your portrait taken. This is a side benefit, but the hotel’s cooking and chefs provide my favorite wedding food.
The Delafield Brewhaus is an entertaining and fun hidden spot off by its own a little outside of Delafield proper. It’s charming with an outdoor garden for ceremonies and a reception area underneath the restaurant where you can hold ceremonies and receptions without booking the entire complex. It also has a microbrewery on the spot where I’ve taken portraits before. That backdrop is perfect for beer lovers.
Downtown Delafield is a great spot to take classy upscale portraits that show style and maturity. It’s a bit of a tourist town with beautiful shops with brick sidings and wood walkways. It’d be hard pressed to take a bad portrait here.
Lapham Peak is a wonderful state park that has a lot going for it. If I want to take portraits in a spot that has wide fields of grass then I always think of Lapham first. I’ve taken a lot of high school seniors there to get their portraits done, but weddings too on occasion. If you park in the right spot you can also take portraits up on top of a lookout tower.
No Travel Fee
The city of Delafield and its surrounding area is considered part of my home base area. There is no extra charge for traveling to Delafield whether for your wedding day or for your engagement portraits.
In person walkthrough
If you hire me for your wedding, I will gladly walkthrough your Delafield wedding venue with no extra charge. This separates me from a lot of wedding photographers who don’t offer this service. All walkthroughs will take place Monday-Thursday before 5 pm at a time and date agreed upon by all of us. We can also meet in the area for any planning or informational meeting.
Half-day engagement sessions
If you purchase a wedding package that includes an engagement session, you’ll be hiring me for up to four hours, which is what is considered a half-day. The four hours is reserved for an engagement session that includes up to three locations, allowing us to travel. For Delafield engagements that could include traveling in the surrounding area. This could include nearby parks or cities such as Waukesha and Milwaukee.
Single location engagement sessions will be 90 minutes to two hours.
