Family Portraits

Maureen and Bjorn are two of the friendliest and hospitable people I’ve ever met. As soon as you meet them they’re cooking you food, giving you gifts and their children are treating you like their best friends. Like me they also live in Bay View and it’s so fun to have friends like them that live in the same neighborhood, go to the same restaurants, play in the same parks and be able to see on a regular basis.
I just love taking family photos, because it’s so great meeting everyone and getting a glimpse into the warmth and happiness of people at their home. Early this year, I got a chance to take photos of the Murphy’s who were finally altogether for the holidays in who knows how long. I am truly grateful that allowed me to be a part of their lives for a day.

I’ve been slacking on putting this gallery up for awhile. As you can see, when I met up with Melody’s family back when there was still snow on the ground. Now, I look outside and it is most definitely spring edging into summer. I met Melody and her family at the Spring Creek Marina and for those of you living in Elko and Spring Creek, the Marina is a great place to take photos. There’s an amazing dock leading out into the water with wooden posts and dark chains between them. There’s also a park area with trees, tables and benches.

Spring and summer are always favorite times for families, couples and seniors to get their portraits done, but winter can provide some very interesting photos as well. You can do some great things with a pure white background and it’s of course really fun to play in the snow as well! During the winter, I had the opportunity to take some pictures of the Walker family. We met in a park with beautiful halfway frozen streams, bridges and snow-covered trees all within walking distance. A light snowfall added to the serene atmosphere. Thank you so much to the Walkers!

The weather is slowly changing, but over the winter I still found the time to take photos of the Moellers, a young family and as you can see from the photos we had a lot of fun taking pictures. There was a great mixture of fun and serious photos. I also had the chance to do a spotlight effect on the couple photos, which I felt turned out really well. It was great how they were willing to try new things and they all turned out great.

I recently took some pictures of the Switalski family. This was a four-generational event and the great grandparents were excited for their new great granddaughter and the grandparents were excited for the granddaughter and the parents were excited for their new daughter. Everyone had a great time posing with the baby and I had a great time taking pictures of the family.

I had the chance to go take some photos of the Glovers in Lamoille. It’s a great place to take photographs and the Glovers were really great to hang out with for the day.
