Brianna is such a great person to photograph. She brings a lot of energy and life to a shoot and I love the bridge crossing into the Third Ward. It's such a beautiful backdrop and shows off so much Milwaukee-ness.
Sometimes you photograph a wedding and the couple is so welcoming and kind that you almost feel like a family member rather than the photographer. Nikki and Danny's wedding was definitely like this. Ever since I shot their engagement shoot, Nikki and Danny never rushed through our meetings and they loved our portrait sessions, working as hard as me to get something beautiful and creative and fun!
Tim and Nedda were married on the last weekend of October on a blustery day that still turned out beautiful and colorful. Nedda's sister and maid of honor is a great friend of mine, so this was a perfect wedding to wrap up the wedding season on. It was also the first time I was able to photograph a sword fight, which substituted for the first dance!
These two people are definitely good people. They laugh, they have fun, their friends are just as kind and nice as they are and they take really good photos. I also loved how they laughed at 75% of my jokes. Ashley and Brad were married at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Menomonee Falls and had their reception at Grafton Dells Park.
This was my first Green Bay wedding of 2017 and it was a Fall wedding and it didn't disappoint. The colors were beautiful and Darci and Brad were two great people to take portraits of as a photographer. They loved our portrait session and brought great energy with them. It was a great day of shooting and a great wedding with these two.
We shot a wonderful engagement session with Angelica and Tannar at Menomonee Park. These two found each other all the way on the other side of the world in Guam and will be getting married in Wisconsin.
Stacey and Chris were married in just a breathtaking outdoor wedding in Hubertus, Wisconsin. They laughed, they told jokes, they had a reception in a good ole German-styled hall and they toasted a mighty impressive beer stein.
Marit & Jered were married in a lovely service at a gorgeous Lutheran church in Madison with the reception at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center, the same place we took engagement photos at half a year before.
These two were absolutely hilarious. They refused to take themselves too serious and brought all sorts of carefree delight to the portraits, which included Lindsey lifting Nate (unsuccessfully) and the two of them "frolicking" through the fields. I will truly miss not spending every day with them!
I've worked with Vanessa before, but I was really excited to photograph her wedding! She and Ruben looked stunning in their courthouse wedding in Milwaukee. They also have an adorable daughter, Ruby, who was all about the photos.
John and Megan are such a lovely couple, high school sweethearts, that grew up together. There were so many unique and special and sweet moments between them on their wedding day, which was truly their own and no one else's.
These two people are truly incredible. There was not an ounce of pretense among them. They never took themselves too seriously, but laughed and celebrated each other and all their friends on a great wedding day.
It was such a joy to be working with these two. As two people that work on putting on events for a living, they put on a marvelous wedding and it was so great to see the transition of them working behind the scenes to being the stars of the show. Congratulations Joy and Tyler!
Nikki and Danny have such a sweet friendly relationship that just shines out when the two are together. They really wanted to take engagement photos at Boerner Botanical Gardens and we got there early enough to just get some incredible shots with incredible light.
I first met Raphael and Judah while teaching Sunday School Classes for my church and their son, Patrick, was there. Raphael and Judah are two of the nicest people I know. They invited me over to their house, we ate amazing home cooked food and talked about how cold Milwaukee was compared to India. They are great people!
Katy and Matt are such a kind and sweet couple that were married in a wedding that matched their personalities at Brookfield Baptist Church. We took portraits in downtown Delafield and the reception followed at Country Springs.
Over Christmas I visited my parents in Atlanta and so with some amazing 60-70 degree weather in the middle of winter, I took some portraits of them outside and just tried some new techniques to do some fun things in the portraits.
Melissa and Jose braved the March weather to take maternity photos at Seven Bridges Park. They brought their puppy along, who was very calm and will undoubtedly make a great dog/friend to the little boy who's about to make his appearance soon.
Marit & Jered are a lovely couple who are getting married in Madison. She is finishing up school in Iowa and Jered is going to grad school in Madison and so met together in Madison for our engagement photos for many, many winter pictures!
For this photo shoot with Brianna, we really wanted to capture that Fall/Autumn vibe with her fashion and the scenery and even though it was actually a really brisk day we totally got it and got some amazing colors and shots at Whitnall Park in Greenfield.
One would be hard pressed to find a better match than Kyle and Emily. Their personalities and interests and their loves seem to almost perfectly coincide. They were married in a lovely ceremony at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky in the first week of January.
Maggie and Troney were married in an epic and amazing day starting off with portraits in and on top of the Iron Horse Hotel. The ceremony itself was in Fox Brook Park with the sun setting across a small lake.
Adrian & Jesse were married in a lovely Lutheran Church in Port Washington. The pair were born and raised in Wisconsin, which made this ceremony and reception one with many family and friends. They were obviously well-loved and I had almost as much fun photographing the day as everyone had attending, especially the reception which made me feel nostalgic for my own family and my own home town!!
Nabeal\'s family made the tough decision to put down their family dog. But, before that happened Nabeal wanted to get pictures of a great companion who had to stood by his side during challenging times that life has a habit of throwing all our ways.
I can\'t think of more lovely people than James and Megan and I can\'t think of a less lovely day to do engagements. It was rainy and windy and we broke two umbrellas, but we still got great pictures because of their willingness to brave the storm!
Megan & James met with me at Lakeshore State Park and we created some beautiful images on the days leading up to winter. There were very few color left in the parks, but we managed to scope out a few trees left that had some color.
Family photos of Maureen and Bjorn at Humboldt Park in Bayview. Maureen and Bjorn are two of the kindest, most generous and gracious hosts I've known. They naturally bring people in to their lives and bless them with their friendship.
I truly enjoyed taking photos with Meghan and Chauncey. Not only did they bring great ideas to the engagement shoot, but they were up for anything and their kids were just the best at getting their photos taken that I had ever worked with before. Seriously, my favorite family photos and their wedding was truly unique, after all it was on a boat in the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan. That's an experience I will always remember.
Heather & Mitchel were married in on a gorgeous day in The Dells at The Wilderness Resort. I spent more than 10 hours with them that day and absolutely every minute was well spent. They had the ceremony outside on an old tee box and the reception inside one of the resorts' many beautiful buildings. Heather & Mitchel have a wonderful story and a beautiful son and families that are kind and friendly.
My friend Betsy and I decided to tour a few buildings in September for Open Doors Milwaukee. Open Doors Milwaukee is a really unique event where these old, classical and historical buildings all over Milwaukee open their doors for people to come in and tour for free and just see the inside of these buildings that would otherwise be locked up to the general public. We toured the new BMO Harris Building, the U.S. Bank Building and the Federal Building all over downtown Milwaukee.
